Chicken Heads and Goat Blood

May 27, 2006 by

I had a great talk with the Husband last night about my woo-woo tendencies and his very conservative outlook on my doings. I walk around with a lot of fear that he will totally freak out because what I do is so counter to all that he believes. I mean, if there was ever a black and white Mormon, it is Husband. However, if there was ever a man who is allowing of me and my eccentrities, it is Husband.

I told him that I feel I have a calling, a purpose, a direction. And that I will be investigating many different things. I told him also that I wasn’t asking him to participate with me, but just to allow me to move forward.

He looked at me like I was nuts. “When have I ever NOT allowed you to do anything?” He’s right… the answer to that is never.

He just smiled and said, “As long as I don’t find chicken heads and goat blood, I’m really ok.”

Well, there you have it.

I have three things: 1) Where’s Julia weekly letter? 2) I Welcome you home Mrs. Woo Woo. And 3) I’m glad Brent and you talked together about your Woowooness. However, the second I see your eyes glaze over and hair turn white and you start controlling the weather that’s it!

  2. I’m more “cultural” Mormon at the moment, while my husband embraces all things Church and relates everything, and I DO mean everything, back to the Gospel. He never chides me about it though. So, while your husband is permissive of “woo wooness”, mine is tolerant of “semi-heathenism”. Sweet!

Taking back the Mac: The Uterus Rules! (even if you’ve had a hysterectomy, the phrase still applies- do I sound too much like a nurse?) Good Job, Li!
Crocks: nurses have had a love affair with these for years. One of our nurses just got some lemon yellow/lime green swirled Crocks. They look like hoppy-taws! I love them. I felt an almost uncontrollable urge to draw hop-scotch squares on the sidewalk and yank them off her feet. She’s only twenty-four. She said she doesn’t know what a hoppy-taw is. I felt sorry for her.
WooWoo: The road less traveled is quite busy these days. Have you noticed? Enjoy the journey.
Great blog. Have a nice week.
